DIY Summer Bench

We have all seen the cinder block DIY bench... But have you seen a back to the bench like this? 

Found an old twin bed headboard at a yard sale and thought immediately, there's the "back" to our summer bench! 

Spray painted it with the color cinnamon, to match the cedar wood. Dug down about 5" for the headboard legs.

Used metal straps, pulled them around the cinder block and screwed them in. Use galvanized screws if possible, so they do not rust during rain and winter. 

Used a simple "no sew" method when making the cushions using safety pins. Bought 2 foam pieces and cute outdoor fabric and tah-dah!!!
